The main goal of Scientific-Student Society is to form
future musician-professionals. Scientific-Student Society
is a laboratory to create scientific potential and vision
of students, as well as to create original searches
and findings.
Aesthetic
vision, confirming harmony of beauty, good and adherence
to arts is of first importance at the Society. Its goal
on the modern stage is to form young specialist, his
ideology and moral principles. Theater, Radio and TV
play significant role in this goal. Essential tasks
of the Society on the modern stage are the following:
1.
to attract students to participate in problems elaboration.
It is related to unknown problems in musicology (historical-theoretical
faculty);
2.
to familiarize students with new compositions of Azerbaijan
and foreign composers. To organize creative disputes;
3.
to organize meetings with outstanding composers, musicologists,
performers and discuss new compositions;
4. to participate in the conferences, announces by Education
Ministry;
5.
to participate in local and international competitions;
6.
to edit student newspapers showing student creative
life;
7.
to publish best student reports in magazines "Shargi"
and "Musigi Dunyasi";
8. to attract students for assistance to organize concerts
at secondary schools;
9.
to train students to lead musical broadcasting and telecasting.;
10.
to create official edition of the newspaper " Scientific-student
society".
Scientific-Student
Society started its activity at late 1950th. Within
semi-centennial period, BMA teaching staff successfully
headed students' scientific works.
Our
students were awarded medals and diplomas of International
competitions not only in musicological sphere, but also
as performers. There were held inter-republican scientific-student
conferences in various areas in 1970-1980th. Some of
them were devoted to Eastern music development. Students
actively participated in such conferences and competitions.

At
the moment they created various clubs, such as: "Musicologists
club", "Composers club", "Pianists club", etc. They
often hold meetings with outstanding composers, writers,
and poets. They elaborate and discuss various problems
at these meetings. For the last years they held a number
of jubilee scientific-research conferences devoted to
U.Hajibeyov, Bulbul, Qara Qarayev, Tofig Guliyev, and
others.
They
also held jubilee celebrations devoted to scientists-musicologists:
M. S. Ismailov, I. V. Abezgauz, N. S. Chumakov, and
others. Not only teaching staff, but also students participate
actively at these conferences. Association of teaching
and student conferences has a specific goal: to involve
students to discuss various problems (theoretical and
historical).
The
conference "Children and music" devoted to musical-aesthetic
education of young generation was held in 2000, as well
as the "Modern art to play the tar". We issued a questionnaire
of 10 points in the "Shargi" magazine. It reflected
various aspects of Scientific-Student Society's activity.
We published the most interesting answers in this magazine.
We
expect scientific relations among states and conservatoires
to be rehabilitated, and our students will participate
at International competitions with their reports. It
could play a great role to develop modern musicologist
with full scope of scientific professional knowledge.
